Echocardiogram & Stress Test

Echocardiogram

An ultrasound scan of the heart, which takes up to 30 minutes to complete. No specific preparation is required. It allows visualization of heart function, and provides useful information for your clinical management.

Stress Test

The heart is monitored while you walk on a treadmill machine, to assess for chest pains, rhythm abnormalities and if any coronary disease can be elicited. This test is usually coupled with an ultrasound (Echocardiogram) component to increase its accuracy. You need to wear comfortable shoes and clothing, and ask your Doctor about any medications that may need to be stopped before the test.
